We saw Animal Collective on May 26, at College Street Music Hall in New Haven. Circuit des Yeux opened. Listen on bandcamp. We needed the neo-psychedelia, electronic, ambient drone…whatever, of Animal Collective. There appeared a baby /mosh pit light front left of the stage (unexpected but loads of fun) and collective jumping up and down throughout the night. Just loving life and enjoying the cathartic release. The sound was amazing despite being so close to the stage, the drawback being that the lyrics were more difficult to decipher. This was our first time seeing Animal Collective and we will do it again. Check out their videos – all visually stunning. Live – they should not be missed.
