Wesley Stace’s Cabinet of Wonders

Electra Muse was there at NYC’s City Winery on April 7th.   There was literature.  There was music.  There was poetry.  There was comedy.  There was also food, but we had none of it. There was Jeffrey Gaines (I Know A Man, Headmasters of Mine), Kat Edmonson, Ben Greeman (Dig If You Will the Picture: a book on the life of Prince), Peter Holsapple (Don’t Mention the War), Eugene Mirman (Bob’s Burgers) and Salman Rushdie (the one and only).  There was a rendition of the Who’s Tommy that caused, an otherwise quietly appreciative audience, to erupt into woops and thunderous claps.   The night ended with everyone joining, one last time, for sing a long to an extended version of Kevin Ayer’s Singing A Song in the Morning.
