We have seen this amazing English singer songwriter /guitarist, Lianne La Havas several times over the past two years, and earlier in September of this year at Webster Hall where she played with a full band. Last year, or was two years ago (time goes), she put a different feel to Radiohead’s “Weird Fishes”, covering the song in NYC and other venues including 2013’s Glastonbury. In February we saw Ms. La Havas play solo at Rough Trade in Brooklyn. Rough trade is an intimate venue which allows you to pass through the store to get to. It’s hard not to spend a lot of money their with it’s selection of unique books and albums. I’m sure you can find it on Amazon, but David Byrne’s 2009 book “Bicycle Diaries” happen to be showcased. So that was hard to pass up.
You can read a quick bio on Lianne at Rough Trade’s website. Currently she is supporting Coldplay in New Zealand and Australia. Check her out below at NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert. She has 2 Albums out. We hope to see her next year headlining.
