Gus Gus

We saw Gus Gus at Highline Ballroom in NYC on November 2nd.  The Highline is a fantastic venue –  you can stand or sit in the booths that frame the stage, it’s small, and the sound system is outstanding.  Last time we saw Gus Gus (also at Highline Ballroom) there were 3 or 4 members (we can’t remember everything), including the massively sexy Daniel August Haraldsson, Hogni Egilsson, and Birgir Þórarinsson. This time 2 of the members, Haraldsson and Þórarinsson, played.  Daniel and Birgir have amazing energy, jumping and dancing the entire night (think Underworld). We missed Egilsson, but they didn’t miss a beat.  If you are a fan and you don’t see them, you will kick yourself.

Highlights : Over (see below), Crossfade and Arabian Horse “too bright to even see the sun, more and more sand in my eyes”.  They are so talented it hurts.   Check out their FB page; there are some live videos from the tour.  We have an idea : Underworld and Gus Gus tour together, swapping headliner, the way Dylan and Van Morrison or NIN and Soundgarden did some years ago.  We probably couldn’t contain ourselves.  It’s a nice thought anyway.
