Trixie Whitley played at Le Poisson Rouge (in the round) November 11, with an eclectic genre of songs from her debut album Fourth Corner, and more recent releases Porta Bohemica (on cd and vinyl), and Sway: Outtakes & Live Tracks. Whitley’s music is her: punk, blues, R&B, rock, whatever she likes, really. Trixie is a multi- instrumentalist (drums, piano, guitar), like Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood (accept she, of course, can sing). Last night she sang and played guitar. Her voice was stunning with an amazing band (keyboards, bass, drums). Beautiful and elegantly dressed in her ultra modern black dress, with some choice words for the events of November 8, and thankful for her audience. Trixie is headed to Boston (tonight November 12th, and then off to Europe to finish the tour, ending in Belgium where she was born.
